It seems the May STM report never made it to the website although it was sent to ARRL in time for qualifying PSHR honorees with 70+ points to be listed in QST magazine. Thanks to all who submitted reports. Remember the Public Service Honor Roll awards points not only for message handling, but also for time spent during public safety communication events, simulated emergency tests, exercises, and drills, etc..
The Annual Traffic Handlers Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 2 from noon on. Come to 44 Raymond Rd in Concord MA. Bring your beverage of choice and a folding chair if you have one. (I have an assortment but not enough for everyone.) Any food contributions are also appreciated but not required (chips, potato salad, cookies, brownies, etc.) Hamburgers, hot dogs and Italian sausages will be provided along with a pot of my daughter-in-law’s much-touted baked beans. Come enjoy food and conversation with your fellow traffic handlers. You may even take home a prize from a drawing. Hope to see you there.
The 2026 Northeast HamXposition will be held August 13 through 16 at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center in Marlborough, MA.. There will be a traffic handlers Meet and Greet on Saturday, August 15 at 12 noon in the Northborough Room (W7), followed at 1:00 by a presentation on the “NTS, Is it Relevant Today?” in the same room. Come join us there.
I am pleased to announce Corwyn Miyagishima, KN1OBI, has been appointed an Official Relay Station (ORS). Corwyn, who has received training on both the Virtual NTS Training Net as well as the Heavy Hitters Traffic Net, handles traffic on VHF nets and the Digital Traffic Network, and is a net control station on the Central Mass 2 Meter Traffic Net. Congratulations Corwyn and thanks for all you do to promote NTS.
Congratulations also to Shawn, N1CVO who has been a regular traner on the Virtual NTS Training Net, for being appointed Net Manager of that net. Great job Shawn!
Both managers of EM2MN and HHTN report new trainees and hopefully we will see some more Official Relay Stations in the upcoming months. Thanks to all the traffic handlers in Eastern and Western Mass and Rhode Island for your participation and support.
