Elected Leadership

  • Usually tours a NE section, has toured RI, SE MA, CT, WMA, EMA, and VT in the past.
    Typically operating as K1KI/m in class 1-C

• Mike Raisbeck K1TWF (NE Div. Vice Director)

  • Formerly toured the EMA and adjacent sections in W1-land, but spent 2008-2009 in K7-land on FD. :-( Returned to W1 in 2010 touring Vermont.

  • 2018 - No BARS FD in 2018, so maybe touring?

  • 2014 Now President of BARS, so presiding over their FD.

• Tom Walsh, K1TW (EMA Section Manager)

  • Traditionally the SM tours EMA.

  • 2018

    Phil Temples and I will be visiting clubs in EMA on Saturday.

    So here is my best plan right now of a Field Day route for K1TW/K9HI.

    Mostly Middlesex county (which is big), but also Norfolk and Essex county might be included.

    Note: Changes are possible depending on conditions Saturday as we drive.

    1. Waltham ARA (10.4 Miles) Prospect Hill Park, Waltham MA
    2. Wellesley ARS + Zola Center, Needham War Memorial Park, 92 Rosemary St., Needham (12.4 miles)
    3. Sci Tech AR Club (formerly Clay Center ARC), Natick (7.6 miles) 16 Tech Circle, Natick MA 01760
    4. Framingham ARC, Framingham (6.5 miles) Christa McAuliffe Branch Library 746 Water St / Saxonville / Framingham MA 01701
    5. Algonquin ARC, Marlborough (7.3 miles) Central Fire Station, 215 Maple Street (Route 85)
    6. Nashoba Valley ARC, Pepperell (32.7 Miles) 109 Heald St., Pepperell
    7. Part of Westford (24.4 miles) 74 Strawberry Hill Rd, Concord, MA

    Only if time allows will continue with these:

    • North Shore RA, Danvers (26.9 miles) Endicott Park, Danvers MA

  • regularly - organizes and operates Wellesley in Needham.

EMA ARES Leadership & Staff

• Marek Kozubal KB1NCG ( SEC )

  • As DEC-Metro-Boston, usually helped NEAR/SCITECH (and formerly Clay Center) set up.

• Rob Macedo KD1CY ( ASEC:SKYWARN/MEMA/FEMA )

  • Sometimes operates at Acushnet EOC, or handles SKYWARN issues at NWS BOX, with touring as available.

  • 2012 - Operated WX1BOX in Class F between SKYWARN actications at NWS BOX.

• Michael Leger, N1YLQ ( ASEC:RACES Region 2 DEC:Bristol Co )

  • commentary

• Steve Schwarm, W3EVE (DEC: Field Ops & Norfolk Co)

  • Usually tours, sometimes only one day in and around Norfolk County, e.g., Norwood, Sturdy , MITRE/BARS, or Wellesley .

  • 2014 - Plan on visiting several sites on Saturday near home in Wrentham. Also, plans to visit a couple sites on Cape Cod. Likely Whitman Club Saturday and Barnstable ARC and Falmouth ARA Clubs Sunday Morning.

• Frank O'Laughlin WQ1O (DEC-Cape/Isles)

  • Usually operates at FARA (Falmouth) &/or with Barnstable

  • 2014 - Operating with Barnstable ARC Field Day and will likely visit the Falmouth ARA site over the course of the weekend

• Jim Palmer KB1KQW (DEC-Essex & Middlesex)

  • Typically participating with NSRA

  • 2017 - Participating with NSRA, hosting Rob KD1CY/ASEC and Mike KI1U, ARRL HQ Emergency Preparedness Manager.
