Biographical Information
Fairly new ham, was licensed October 9th, 2019 and took to CW right away with the awesome help of Long Island CW Club. I can’t imagine not being able to do CW. It has brought great joy to my life. I recently graduated CW Academy Advanced Class (formerly known as Level 3). I have enjoyed working the CWTs and look forward to them each week.
Excited to announce I will be the Net Manager on a new Section Traffic Net in MA/RI starting March 22, 2021. The Mass Rhode Island Slow CW Net (10 WPM) is a training net of the NTS and meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 PM local Eastern. We will host the net on frequency 3.598. Hope you will check in!
In my work life I have been in nonprofit management for 31 years and am currently the Executive Director of a local CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program and am a professor at Clark University in Worcester, MA.
In the shack I have a Yaesu FT-950 and an ICOM 7300 to an 8-Band Hyend Fed Antenna that works wonderfully for me. I run at 100 Watts most of the time. At my summer QTH in Eastham, MA on Cape Cod I run a IC 7300 to a 6 band endfed. I also always have my KX2 which I pair with the Buddipole Deluxe antenna for SOTA and POTA activations
I am the ARES Emergency Coordinator for the City or Worcester, MA and am working to help rebuild ARES in WMA.
Lately I really enjoyed participating in traffic handling through the NTS. I participate in the MARI (Mass Rhode Island) CW net and the Central MA 2 meter net for traffic.
