The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation “Cycle for Life” bicycle event is being held this year in our area (Lexington, Carlisle, Concord, Westford) and is in need a few more ham radio volunteers to provide safety communications along the routes (there are three routes — 65 miles, 30 miles, and 15 miles). All that is needed is a 2 meter portable or mobile radio. There are both fixed-position and mobile opportunities. The event runs from 0700 to about 1200. I have volunteered for this event a number of times and it is a well-run and fun experience.If you are interested in volunteering. please contact the radio lead, Dave Gilman (kc1ddh@gmail.com) for more information.
