In the wake of recent concerns expressed after last week’s “Town Hall Meeting” on local TV, Cristine McCombs, Director of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency praised the volunteer efforts of Amateur Radio operators in an open letter to the Amateur Radio community today. Stating that “both ARES and RACES have been and remain key components” in Massachusetts’ communication strategy, McCombs added that MEMA “continues to rely upon the thousands of hours volunteer operators provide.” [Full text]
