The Southeastern MA Amateur Radio Association will be “QRV” for the ARRL Kids Day event on June 16, 2007, according to SEMARA’s Bob Kelley, K1KVV. Kelley is hosting the event.
The event is sponsored every six months by the ARRL to encourage youths to get on the air and make contacts. All kids are eligible to receive a colorful certificate from the event.
“You don’t have to come down to participate. You can also have any youngster talk from your home station,” writes Kelley.
Kelley anticipates operating on 20 meters between 14.270 to 14.300 MHz starting at 14:00 ET. “I’ll run until the propagation, or the kids, gives up.”
As an added incentive for the kids, Kelley intends to have pizzas and free beverages on-hand from the club refrigerator. “Adults bringing kids may enjoy a slice of pizza too.”
