Recent activities by the Town of Swansea’s Emergency Management Agency in the simulated “Hurricane Joshua” and this weekend’s ARRL Field Day are catching the attention of the reading public.
News stories about the EMA program and its modified former ambulance-turned-emergency communications van are the subject of stories in editions of the Swansea News, The Somerset Swansea Spectator and The Point.
Swansea EMA is operating in this weekend’s Field Day event as the Southeastern MA Amateur Radio Group using the call sign K1RFI in the 2F (EOC) category. Police and fire officials were on hand today to witness the exercise.
