The Falmouth Amateur Radio Association will holds its 10th Annual FARA Fest featuring ham, computer, electronics equipment, and
a VE Testing Session on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Upper Cape Regional Tech School, 220 Sandwich Road, in Bourne. Vendor setup starts at 7:00 am.

Buyers pay $5.00 for admission; children under 14 are admitted for free. There’s plenty of free parking. Sellers are provided with 8-foot spaces @ $10.00 per spece. Bring your own tables for outdoor space, weather permitting. FARA will provide tables for indoor spaces.

Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Talk-in: 146.655 MHz (-600 KHz) PL 88.5

ARRL VE Exam Sessions run from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Registrations for VE session will be accepted at the door by 9:00 am.

Door prize raffle tickets will be sold on site; drawings will be conducted every half hour.

Longtime Framingham Amateur Radio Association member and attorney Lee Gartenberg, K1GL is one of two honorees who will soon receive awards from the Massachusetts Bar Association. Gartenberg will be honored at a special banquet on on Wednesday, November 12 at the John J. Moakley U.S. Courthouse in Boston.

“Recipients Lee Gartenberg and Judge Christopher Armstrong were chosen in large part because they exemplify the timeless tenets of leadership in the law,” said MBA President Edward W. McIntyre.

K1GL will receive the Gold Metal Award, “reserved for individuals who have provided outstanding legal services that have benefited the legal profession in Massachusetts.”
