Hello to all..
***REQUEST ARES MEMBERS PROVIDE THEIR AVAILABILITY FROM FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY DUE TO REQUESTS TO SUPPORT DAMAGE ASSESSMENT OPERATIONS IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR FULL ARES ACTIVATION DURING THIS TIME FRAME AND THIS IS BEING COORDINATED WITH OUR SERVED AGENCY PARTNERS THIS EVENING***
***MEMA/FEMA/RED CROSS COMMENCED DAMAGE ASSESSMENT OPERATIONS WEDNESDAY MARCH 17TH AND ARES STAFF CHECKING WITH AGENCIES ON ANY NEEDS FOR THIS ASSESSMENT. OPERATIONS CONTINUED TODAY IN BOTH NORTH AND SOUTH SHORE COMMUNITIES***
***A COMPLETE UPDATE WILL BE ISSUED LATE THIS EVENING OR EARLY FRIDAY MORNING WITH DETAILS***
With damage assessment operations having commenced, there is now a potential need for ARES operators to support this mission with the American Red Cross. Please advise your local EC/DEC/ADEC of your availability to support a potential deployment from Friday, March 20th through Sunday March 22nd. Please copy your ASEC and SEC when you send a note to your EC/ADEC. This is being done to cover a situation where the EC/ADEC or DEC is unavailable because they were adversely affected by the storm, out of area or some other exigency has occurred. ARES operators will need at least a mobile radio with a mobile antenna to assist with any potential operation or activation that may occur and this will be refined with future coordination.
A complete update to this email will be issued either late tonight or early tomorrow morning with further details once additional agency coordination has been completed
