Biographical Information
Dean Burgess, KB1PGH, is the Cape Ann ARES Emergency Coordinator. Dean has been an avid shortwave listener since he was a teenager and was first licensed in 2017 where he now holds an Amateur Extra class license. Dean is an active Amateur and is a member of the Cape Ann Amateur Radio Association (CAARA) and has served as a clerk on the Board of Directors for 5 years. He is also an ARRL Volunteer Examiner and Public Information Officer. Dean is also a member of the Gloucester CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team). Dean enjoys HF portable operations. Dean works on a farm in Essex MA and is married with one son. Dean is an active leader in ARES in the Cape Ann area of the North Shore.
