| Introduction
Carl Aveni, N1FY received his first ham licence in 1988. He has been a member of the Massasoit Amateur Radio Association (MARA) and the Marconi Radio clubs ever since. Carl has held most of the elected offices in MARA and is currently serving his second two-year term as its president. He is on the Board of Driectors of the Skywarn Spotter program for the NAtional Weather Service in Taunton, MA, where he is one of their primary amateur radio operators called to duty during severe weather events.. In addition, Carl is the RACES Communications Officer for the Emergency Operations Center in the town of Bridgewater, MA. Carl serves as the District Emergency Coordinator for South Shore operations and as the director of the Eastern Massachusetts ARES Emergency Communications Command Center in Bridgewater, MA. Carl has worked as a psychiatric Social Worker for the VA MEdical Center in Brockton, MA since 1968. He has been married to the former Lorraine Shea of Norwood, MA. for 38 years. |
