Biographical Information
I am a high school student and amateur radio operator, I fill my operating time with QSOs on many FM repeaters and nets and which ever HF bands are propigating. I Accept and utilize VoIP systems (Echolink: 404210), but nothing beats refracting radio waves off the atmosphere, especially VHF during band openings. You may hear me taking Net Control for the Norfolk County Emergency Preparidness Net, or Whitman Amateur Radio Public Service Net. I am also a casual contester. So far I have my Technician as of September 2008, and General as of June 2009, with more to follow. I am deeply involved in Emergency Communications/Public Service, mostly SKYWARN, out of the National Weather Office at Taunton, MA WX1BOX, and Eastern Massachusetts ARES. I am a member of the Whitman Amateur Radio Club and ARRL. I am a member of the Mansfield EMA in the communications division. I am also a member #67 of the YACHT contest group. Along with that I keep involved with may other radio groups locally.
If you work me while operating portable within the U.S. simply record the QSO in LOTW as KB1REQ, I will enter the needed information on my end.
Lastly and most important, ANY young persons intrested in becoming a radio amateur or any young hams who want to get their feet wet can contact me with any questions.
