Members of the Falmouth Amateur Radio Association provided communications for the 28th Annual Cape Cod Marathon in Falmouth on October 30-31, 2005.
According to the FARA ham organizers, the event “came off very well, with special thanks to all who participated.” They especially credit Jan Carman, K5MA, of West Falmouth, who was “up on his tower in the cold and rain on Saturday mounting antennas for an APRS digipeater to be used during the race.”
Sponsored by the Falmouth Track Club, the Cape Cod Marathon has been dubbed “one of the ten most scenic marathons” in America. It attracts upwards of 2,000 runners of all ages and abilities from the U.S., Canada, and five foreign countries.
