An ARRL Web feature article entitled Surfin’: Collecting Memories highlights several on-line collections of antique QSL cards, including one from the Harvard Wireless Club.
Perhaps the most unique card in the collection is one confirming a 2-way contact with WJS, the famous Hamilton Rice Expedition of 1924-25 that explored the headwaters of the Amazon River.
The card, sent from Belem, Brazil states: “Greetings 1AF. This is first opportunity to mail your card re: our QSO Jan 22, ’25 at 3:50 AM 60 MT. Also to thank you for courtesy in QSR. Expedition closed down. Now bound for USA. Rgds & 73s.”
