Sci-Tech ARS Hosts Millis Boy Scout Troup

From Sci-Tech ARS News, February 11, 2025: Many thanks to Joe, KM1P, for hosting the Boy Scouts Troop 15 from Millis, MA, this past Saturday. They arrived for a radio room visit, demonstrations, and GOTA activities while studying for the Radio Merit Badge. By the time they left, many had expressed interest in getting their Amateur Technician license.

Check Ins: Radio Roslindale Radio Harvard Radio Wilmington Mobile 5F mobile 5G Net Control: Radio Waltham NCS Traffic: Traffic consisted of radio checks and a few administrative messages. FINAL UPDATE – Eastern Massachusetts ARES Section Exercise – Operation Clear Ice – Saturday 2/1/25 – 10 AM-1200 PM EST

Hello to all… Eastern Massachusetts ARES will conduct a section exercise on Saturday 2/1/25 from 10 AM-12 PM dubbed “Clear Ice”. The exercise will practice similar skills as previous exercises conducted over the course of 2024. Marconi Day Special Event Station KM1CC on Sat, Jan 18

On Saturday, January 18, the Marconi Cape Cod Radio Club will  operate Special Event Station KM1CC in Wellfleet, MA, grid FN51, to celebrate  the 122nd Anniversary of Marconi’s first transatlantic wireless message from the USA. The message was sent by Marconi from his South Wellfleet, MA USA station to his Poldu, UK station. KM1CC will be active 1500 UTC-2100 UTC  using CW, SSB (multiple bands) and digital FT8 standard frequencies.   Check dxsummit.fi for real time SSB frequencies.   For CW, check reversebeacon.net  -“spotted” KM1CC for frequencies. The KM1CC operators hope to work you on Saturday!

New MA State Government Liaison Appointed

Steve will serve both the EMA and WMA sections. KC1KEZ replaces Steve Boyson, N1VLG (SK).
