On April 29th from 9 am to 5 pm, the Harvard Wireless Club will be hosting the Harvard Amateur Radio Symposium on campus. We will have a variety of interesting speakers from around the world on topics ranging from the technical to the historical to the social. All are welcome at this exciting meeting! The event is free but a donation is humbly requested in order to help us put this event on for the public.

North Shore RA Meeting to Feature Tom Gallagher, NY2RF, April 3, 2017

North Shore RA logoThe North Shore Radio Association will feature special guest Tom Gallagher, KY2RF, ARRL’s Chief Executive Officer at its general meeting on Monday, April 3 at 7:30 PM. The club meets at the Peabody Municipal Light Plant Auditorium, 201 Warren St Ext., Peabody. Talk-in is provided on the 145.470 MHz repeater.

According to ARRL, Gallagher joined the leadership team with “three decades as an international investment banker and financial services executive. His career has included senior leadership positions with JP Morgan Chase & Co and CIBC Oppenheimer & Co in New York, and with Wachovia Capital Markets in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and as CEO of the Secondary School Admission Test Board in Princeton, New Jersey. Gallagher has served on boards, both public and non-profit, including two NYSE companies, the NPR affiliate in Charlotte, the Executive Board of The PENN Fund at the University of Pennsylvania, and The International Center of Photography.”

PAVE PAWS Talk, March 28 at Clay Center ARC

Lieutenants Theodore Kruczek and Meredith Prinz will be visiting from Cape Cod Air Force Station on Tuesday, March 28, 6:30-8:00 pm. They are crew commanders on the Early Warning Radar located there. The site’s primary mission is detecting and reporting intercontinental ballistic missiles and sea launched ballistic missiles. The secondary mission is tracking satellites in low earth orbit, including amateur radio satellites utilized by amateur radio operators. They will be discussing radar operations, how that data helps amateur radio operators, and the importance of proper amateur radio use.

Sturdy Memorial Hospital ARC To Assist With Rome Blvd. Road Race

Sturdy Memorial Hospital ARC logoMembers of the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Amateur Radio Club will assist with communications for the Rome Boulevard Road Race on Sunday, October 1, 2006. The event consists of a five-mile run, a two-mile run and a two-mile walk. The start/finish line is at Attleboro High School.
